State Contribution to In Vitro Fertilization Procedures

State Contribution in In Vitro Fertilization and Vaccination Procedures is subject to certain rules by regulation. The couple must obtain a Committee Report in order to benefit from state aid for both IUI and In Vitro Fertilization treatment. However, the institutions authorized to issue this report are specific.

While private hospitals with SSI agreements can also report for insemination or ovulation treatment (ovulation induction), only University Hospitals and state hospitals providing training can report for state aid in In Vitro Fertilization Treatment.

Couples who have received a committee report for in vitro fertilization treatment can apply to our hospital and benefit from their reports, because our hospital has an agreement with SSI (Social Security Institution) in all branches.

The latest regulation on this subject introduces the following rules:

1)-If the procedures before in vitro fertilization treatment are performed on women who are over 23 years of age and under 39 years of age, the costs are covered by the Institution.

Classic ovulation induction

(1)-For each cycle (treatment trial) a medical board report including a gynecologist and obstetrician will be prepared. The report will indicate the number of cycles and the necessary medications will be prescribed by the gynecology and obstetrics specialist.

(2)-In the report; The diagnosis, the treatment to be applied, and the daily and maximum doses of the drugs to be used will be stated.

(3)-Gonadotropin costs to be used for a maximum of 2 (two) cycles and up to 3000 units in total are covered by the Institution. Gonadotropin fees for classical ovulation induction treatment performed after two applications (cycles) are not paid.

(4)-The HCG (Human chorionic gonadotropin) dose used for ovulation trigger is outside the maximum dose and cannot exceed 10000 units. If urinary HCG is used, it can be prescribed without requiring a report.

Intra uterine insemination (IUI)

(1)-The criteria determined for in vitro fertilization treatment procedures are also valid for intrauterine insemination (artificial insemination - Vaccination).

(2)-The HCG (Human chorionic gonadotropin) dose used for ovulation trigger is outside the maximum dose and cannot exceed 10000 units. If urinary HCG is used, it can be prescribed without requiring a report.

In vitro fertilization treatment procedures

In vitro fertilization procedures performed for the treatment of a disease

(1)-If the patient has a child and its treatment is not possible with any other medical method and it is deemed medically necessary, preimplantation genetic screening is performed for the treatment of this child and the birth of a suitable stem cell donor sibling is carried out on behalf of the patient child by the health boards of tertiary health care providers with Bone Marrow Transplantation Centers.

(2)-Based on the health board report in question, families can apply to one of the assisted reproductive treatment centers (in vitro fertilization center) contracted with the Institution.

(3)-The drugs to be used in in vitro fertilization treatment will be prescribed by gynecology specialists at the assisted reproductive treatment center where in vitro fertilization treatment is performed, based on the health board report in question. The cost of gonadotropin to be used for each in vitro fertilization trial, up to a total of 3000 units, is covered by the Institution.

Other in vitro fertilization treatment procedures

(1)-If the universal health insurance holder is a woman, provided that he or she is married but does not have a surviving child with established lineage, excluding adopted children, if the universal health insurance holder is a woman, his/her dependent wife is the one who is obliged to take care of him if he is a man;

(2)- In vitro fertilization treatments previously paid by the social security institutions transferred to the institution are taken into account in calculating the number of procedures.

(3)- The health board report to be issued for in vitro fertilization treatment will be prepared by health committees formed with the participation of two gynecology and obstetrics specialist physicians and a urology specialist physician in tertiary health institutions that have a gynecology and obstetrics clinic and a urology clinic (including gynecology and obstetrics hospitals that do not have a urology clinic but provide training where a urology specialist physician serves as a consultant). In the health board reports, in addition to the patient's age and identification information, the diagnosis, indication, treatment to be applied, daily and maximum doses of the drugs to be used will also be stated.

(4)- In medical board reports, it is sufficient to state that no results have been obtained from other treatment methods in the last three years, and diagnostic documents and information will not be sought separately in the annex or report.
